Jyst – a "shifter". Game changer. A SPARK.
Our society has gone through so much in the past few years! It has shown us that with adaptation comes great innovation.
Many people have changed jobs, or left their respective industries altogether. At the beginning of the year, reports on the job market were saying that companies were not competitive enough to attract employees. It is the first time in my life where I've seen so many businesses tacking "HIRING" to the sides of their buildings! They are DESPERATE to hire more staff.
Now, reports are expecting businesses to SLOW their hiring with a strong whiff of a 2023 recession in sight. It is confusing and nerve-wracking, to say the least.
And we take this all very seriously – BUT, we also know that the news doesn't always dictate real life, or our success, for that matter! Everyone will still need jobs, and businesses will always have turnover. We know this from running small family businesses, and from Meagan's now ownership of a well-known restaurant in Skagit County, WA.
We just think there is a major gap between where jobs are being posted, and how businesses are finding their employees – or the other way around for job seekers. So, why not make this happen more magnetically? Why not provide matches for both sides with technology. The similar technology – swipe-to-match - that has made dating apps so popular???
By implementing swipe-to-match technology, not only are we meeting app users where they are comfortable, but we are also cutting down on what some business owners deem a HUGE WASTE OF TIME – resumes. In a lot of industries, skills and experience come second to being an overall good human. If you think about all that goes into crafting a "good" resume, then we should also consider the ability to do so may not be fair for all - I.e., lack of computer, disabilities, or gaps in timelines, etc. In this sense, Jyst can even the playing field by extracting the essentials of a resume to individuals' profile "cards."
We are just at the beginning of disrupting this industry and the antiquated ways of hiring. The first iteration is live and in the wild, but our ideas have not stopped flowing! The energy is HOT with every bit of feedback, encouragement, and growth we take in. Additionally, our series of "Download Events" have helped tremendously.
A huge thank you to everyone that has sent us feedback! It is only weeks to go before version 2.0 releases. Stay tuned for what is to come!
